At the tip of the Furness peninsula, with a long history of steel-making, shipbuilding and entrepreneurship, Barrow is the second largest town in Cumbria with much to offer the business delegate. Further up the coast is Ulverston, the festive capital of Furness and a cultural hotspot for events and celebrations. Barrow and Ulverston are connected to the Lake District and the M6 motorway by the A590, and have railway stations on the Cumbria Coastal and Furness Railways linking to Whitehaven, Workington and Carlisle.

With the Solway Firth to the north, the Lake District to the east and the scenic delights of Eskdale and

Ravenglass to the south, the west coast of Cumbria is surrounded by outstanding natural beauty.

The recent regeneration of Maryport harbour and Workington and Whitehaven town centres has created new vibrant coastal towns that are bursting with innovation and entrepreneurship. Some exceptional conference venues can be found here, ranging from the historic Muncaster Castle to the high-tech Energus centre, all connected by the Cumbrian Coast Line and the A595. Come to Cumbria's Energy Coast and you will be guaranteed a corporate event full of verve and vigour!
